Set goals

One of the biggest hacks into staying disciplined and motivated among the twists and turns of life is to impose yourself high goals: the type of goals will take great discipline to accomplish in, let’s say, 4 years.
That accomplishes two things: the first is that it gets your entire being accustomed to having such goals, they will slowly multiply to other domains as you tend to them as the starting embers of a fire; the second is that you will learn to organize your life around such a goal, adapt as best you can in order to move towards it, faster or slower according to your current circumstances.
As it pertains to physical training, gather the basic tools you need to start building efficiently, get the instruction to build the first foundations of your temple. From that point you will be able to envision one of such longer goals. There are many benchmarks out there: it could be a weight standard or a timed number of repetitions on a given movement or an athletic achievement. Use your imagination to paint a vivid picture of what arriving there would feel like. Who would you have to be to attain it? What would that person look like physically, psychologically, spiritually? How would that transform who you are today?
Then get to work. A little at the time, plan around it, and break it into smaller plans, put some marks on the ground to remind you where you are now, and where you came from.
Seek instruction when you need and leave behind the parts of yourself that are holding you back when the time comes.
Kettlebells and bodyweight training taught the right way will give you all the tools you need to pursue most physical endeavors, with 6 simple, yet deep, moves you will have work to do and accomplishments to achieve for years to come.
Teaching these is my life’s work and building a stronger community is my higher purpose. Leave me a line if you’d like to know more.
